Growls with the pain of the sudden attack, his burning hot blood turning to red flames as it hits the ground. He looks about to try and glimpse what delt him such a crippling blow, but sees nothing before the giants leave.

He looks to Kaylisa as she heals his wound magicaly and brushes his snout against her side in appreciation.

Thank you friend. It.. it was so sudden I didnt even catch the scent of the intruders.

ooc: Luckily, Arcades doesnt really need to fly in order to fight banewolves.

For Brendon and Rhianneth

The stink of polluted water fills their nostrils and pulls them slowly back to painful and reluctant consciousness. Even in the darkness the desolation of this place of broken stone and death-choked water is obvious and the chill in the air here gives mute witness that even the everglowing sun has not sufficient warmth in its light to dispel the clamminess of the grave that has settled here. Dismal is this place. And cheerless. A place of fallen pride and broken power. A place of ......

Chains. Sturdy links of metal secure them to a great block of black stone.

Reaper

Echoes of pain, fear and doubt rode the winds, that they were not his own was comforting. He prepared a spell, and released it, asking a simple question of his god, "Is my role in this affair ended for the time being," (ooc the spell cast was augury, it will yeild an answer, usually in the form of a riddle, since I see no way to become involved in the final course of the adventure for my character I'm leaving it to the gods to let me bow out)

For Reaper

Long have eyes scanned the starry heavens in search of answers and eyes diverse and many have assigned various groupings to the stars they perceived. Poets and dreamers have long preferred the bright and beautiful bodies that shine silver against the deep black of the peak of the dome of the sky. Other eyes, more practical perhaps, or perhaps simply eyes with nothing of the romantic about their vision scan the murky clouds that linger near the horizon, clouds whose movement both discloses and obscures the secret places of the sky. On this night there is a parting of the clouds to the Northeast, a parting that discloses the fiery crescent of the moon. There is a reddish cast about the moon this night and the ends of its crescent, like the sweeping of a scythe, stretch outward as if straining beyond the mountains. There is something familiar about those mountains to any aware of the events of days long past and nearly forgotten for through their broken and rutted trails champions came in misguided enthusiasm only to be broken and humiliated by the One that Mods. There is a building beyond those mountains, a hall that was once a place where men of honor banded together in the fellowship of an order, a place that like the broken tower at the center of these lands stands now silent and desolate.

ooc: I trust this will do the trick.

Brendon ??/??

He looked about and saw little. The rattling of the chains beside him told him that he was not alone, and as he looked, he saw Rhianneth. The air was frigid and he was aware of his chattering teeth that uncontrollably protested to the enviroment. The ickiness of the
darkness was felt as slime and made Brendon cringe to even think of a fate worse than this...yes...even death would be welcomed to escape the fear of tortures that probably awaited him.

"Are you awake over there, Rhianneth?
Where the hell are we?
Can you get your
arms free?"

With that thought just escaping his lips, he tried himself to see if the chains were yielding in some manner.

Arcades works his way down into the bottom of the ravine, finding it not quite as easy without his abillity to fly.

The acrid scent of this place fills his sensitive nose, making it difficult for him to detect anything else by sense of smell. The elder dragon forces his eyes to focus harder to compensate for his loss.

Upon reaching the bottom of the ravine, he approaches a pile of rocks which he feels hides a powerful evil beneith it... the source of The Hunger.

Without delay, he begins shifting the rocks, knowing all too well that the pack of Banewolves will attempt to hinder his progress in whatever way they can.

OOC>>>Let it be assumed that Anarrima did as was asked from Tao and aided her in whatever she needed to, but at the time Ana has no other action to perform...so I pass my turn for her.

OOC: ruby is implementing the plan outlined last night to protect anarrima. wyrd will be taking up defensive for arcades, but he will not give up his life for the dragon.

IC: ruby gathers her senses andcomes very close to ana. in a quiet whisper ruby lets her know she is planning to protect her again. "i hope you can do what you need to do with me close by...otherwise our chances of survival are less than they already are."

although anarrima can not feel the difference in the air around her it has thickened, and will slow many different kinds of attacks. not to much longer afterward ruby has developed the claws and teeth of a lion. a feral look graces her eyes as she prepares to protect her elven friend.

wyrd carefully follows the dragon. his companion has told him how important this creature would be to survival. wyrd simply hopes that he can hold off the banewolves.

The sky darkens with building storm clouds, and thunder crashes through the heavens, louder and closer with each boom...

Lightning begins to crackle, striking the ground around them in a strategic placement, leaving a blue ring of flame around the area as the winds begin to blow........

The Hunger

Its reaching is both sudden and furious and the ground itself bucks near the place where the sword has been driven. The women in the area are thrown from their feet and once more the Hunger seizes the blade .......
