Zyaevl nodded "Yes Mother" she replied and asked, "Maybe it needs a command word, Mother? Or... needs to be used in conjunction with something? Is that the right word? Conjunction I mean?" she asked shyly. "Maybe... hmm. A mirror or something else... have you tried identifying it yet?" she asked thoughtfully.

Arlyth nodded, "But... thats..." Arlyth blinked "It sounds very fair... but so... unfeeling almost. Like hes hiding everything inside." he whispered and sighed again.

Alliene frowned and cast identify on the gem, "The cocoon and silk probably have something to do with it." She picked them up and brought them close.

Alae sighed with Arlyth, "Yes, it does seem that way. He has a good heart though, and he doesn't always hide his feelings. It's just that sometimes if you show them too much they can affect you in an adverse way."

The identify revealed nothing about the gem; it wasn't magicial. Zyaevl frowned and asked, "Maybe try using it with a scrying device? Like a mirror or crystal or something?" she asked. "I don't know" she sighed. "Blasted thing." she finished annoyed.

Arlyth just snuggled up to her, his head resting on her and sighed again. "Its... I've missed you" he whispered "Even though it was only for a few days... I still missed you" he whispered and sighed again. "Its.. just nice to be with you." he sighed.

"Let's see." Alliene said, standing. She helped Zyaevl to her feet until she was steady, then walked over to the large mirror she had on her desk. She held the gem up to it with a frown.

"I missed you too, little cousin. I am glad you are safe." She gave him a tight hug and stood, I think I might be able to fall asleep now. If you wish to share the bed, you may." She smiled.

Zyaevl looked in the mirror and gasped, "Do I really look like that, Mother?" she asked hesitently, "I.. I had no idea." she blushed and touched her hair, then on impulse hugged the drow, and whispered "Thank you..." she looked at the mirror again, and then at the gem. She sighed. "Forgive me Mother, but... I'm not sure what to do." the girl sighed, and whispered "Please don't punish me..."

Arlyth looked shocked for a moment "Sh-share your bed?" he asked his eyes wide "I... thank you" he whispered and returned her embrace. It was clear he was unused to sharing a bed with another, eiter for sleeping or other purposes. He removed his cloak, and Alae could see he was wearing his thin night garments and waited for his cousin to lead him over to her bed. "It feels less creepy with you nearby" he whispered.

"Do not worry, Zyaevl, I'm not going to punish you. I will have my priestesses help later." She glanced at Zyvael through the mirror, "And you are very beautiful, for an elf. Or a sword. Both, I guess." Her warm smile didn't touch her eyes, but she meant she said.

Alae took his hand, "This places creeps me out too." She let him lie down then pulled his head onto her lap and stroked his hair. She would fall asleep after he did.

The girl smiled at Alliene's words and looked up at her with untainted love in her amber eyes, "Thank you Mother," and gently took the ruby, spider and the cocoon from Alliene's hands and set them down. Still looking at her, Zyaevl placed her arms around the drow and hugged her tightly, her head on Alliene's breast the girl whispered "I love you Mother... thank you. For everything." The girl sighed happily. Somewhat shorter then Alliene, she would probably grow in time. Right now, she was still very much a child, despite her body being that of an adolescent's. The girl yawned sleepily, then asked, "Why don't you ever sleep?" her arms still around Alliene. It was quite probably if Alliene stroked her hair and craddled her, she would fall asleep on the spot. Alliene was a little surprised at Zyaevl's bodywieght; it was quite light, even for an elf. She would have no trouble at all lifting her if she wished to carry the child back to bed.

Arlyth smiled and closed his eyes. Softly, he whispered "Goodnight Alae." His breathing became regular, and Alae lifted his head off her lap and onto the pillow, and shuffled down beside him, closing her eyes. Arlyth, half asleep snuggled up to her and the pair fell asleep.

"I don't sleep for a few reasons combined. My mother, being one, the golden one being another, and Verloren the last. I don't know. I just never feel tired, and I found that my spells regenerate the course of a night, so sleeping is not neccesary." She smirked breifly, "I managed to surprise a couple of assassins that way. They were very sorry." Indeed, she had enjoyed torturing them. Alliene picked up the elf and set her on the bef, under the covers, "Why don't you get some sleep, Zyaevl. I will get some priestesses to work on the scrying with me." She patted the young elf's head.

Looking up at the Drow with innocent eyes, Alliene had to wonder how a sword ever became that innocent, after all, it had been created to kill. Zyaevl closed her eyes, and drifted off, safe in the knowledge the Alliene was nearby.

Alliene stood watch a few moments more to make sure the sword was sleeping, then gathered up the components of the amulet and silently left the room, making sure the door was firmly shut behind her. All this mothering was beginning to make her sick. Loanna had learned quickly not to simper like that, but Alliene couldn't raise her hand to the sword for the same reason she couldn't raise it to Alae and Alaerth. Grumbling, she searched the house and gathered up various priestesses, except Sui'aerl, who was still torturing the unfortunate betrayer. They met in the chapel room, where a large statue of Shar gazed serenly down on them. Alliene placed the cocoon, spider, silk, and gem on a reflective scrying table and looked around at each of them, "I have been unable to determine how this thing works. I hope you can figure out a way?"
