Shadow looks at Kai and then surrenders to the fact that he is going to have to fly. He climbs up onto her back and waits for her to take off, all the while silently praying to mask to keep him from dieing.

After several hours, Calaethis awoke. He opened his eyes, his head still on his pillow. Still covered up, he looked around a bit, still lying there, before sinking back down into the pillow. A few hours passed, and he just lay there awake; his goddess's words had meant nothing to him. She'd said everything would be all right, and it wasn't. Calaethis felt hurt, betrayed, but mostly void. Void of emotion. He absently felt the dull pang of hunger; and closed his eyes again. He woke a couple of hours later, and continued to stare. Perhaps he could starve himself to death...

Once assured that her elf had a good grip on her scales, she took a quick running start through the trees and kicked off the ground, beating her wings strongly. She rose as high as the tree tops, so as not to be spotted by the locals. As they flew farther away, Amn dwindled out of sight, and Zachana let the currents carry her up to the cloud tops. Sensing Shadow's distress, she assured them they did not have much farther. A swamp reared into view, bordered by surprisingly healthy wildlife. A small glade was centered not a quarter mile from the swamps border, and that was were Zachana landed. Scooping Shadow gently off her back, she set him on grass as soft as a blanket and chaged to her human form. The setting was almost too perfect...birds chirping a crystal clear creek running through, and rocks strategicly placed for comfort. Zachana undid the pack and spread the blanket, laying the food and drink on it, patting a spot next to her as she sat, "You must be exhausted from that flight," she said with a smile, "Come have some food,"

After some time of rejoicing, Verloren had sat Avalon down after he said he had news of Calaethis. Her eyes glowed in rage as he relayed what happened in his cave with the young elf, but dissipated in startlement as he told her his cousin's story. She frowned,
"Well, if his actions were not his own, we might take him back. Although I fear Alliene will be...out of sorts. It's too long a flight..." she pulled out a wand and looked at it doubtfuly, "This has 2 charges of dimension door...Alliene gave it to me. Might as well put it to use," so she did. They found an unconcious Calaethis and brought him back to his charges rooms...Alliene had refused to come and see him, and now was in a most foul mood after learning of what they did...

Shadow smiles, "Ah yes food... and drink too." He smiles at kai and sits down carefully noting the lack of cheese she bought with her.

Zach munched down her food, and examined the brandy flask. She had never tried any before, but it had been in his rooms, so she had brought it. Opening the stopper, she sniffed it carefuly and took a cautious sip. The taste exploded in her mouth, and instantly it felt as if her stomach were on fire,
"By Torga'Nath!" she exlaimed, "This stuff is wonderful," she proceeded to guzzle down the rest of the flask.

"Maybe you shouldnt be drinking that so fast, it is rather... strong, especially for one not used to it. As a matter of fact you should give to me."
Shadow smiles, wondering if dragons get hangovers.

Calaethis awoke, and opened his eyes. He felt dizzy. Weakly, he lifted his head up a little. His eyes began focus; but were still blury. A female elf or half elf was standing near by. He heard a voice, he did not know who said it; "Hes awake it seems." he tried to figure out were he was, and his eyes finally focused. He saw Verloren, and turned his head back into the pillow; she heard him whisper "Damn You; haven't You done enough already? Why must You punish me further? Not this... anything but this..." his head in the pillow, he wept silently, the occational angry sob from him could be heard though.

Zachana looked at the half-empty flask with difficulty,
"Strong indeed...here, take it," she pushed the flask towards him, then uncorked the bottle of wine she had broughten.

Verloren glanced at Avalon, who was staring stonily at the elf, and took a step closer to the bed, "You're goddess is not going to help you here, Calaethis," she said sharply, "Now look at me. Now. I think that you have somethings to explain, do you not?"

Shadow takes the flask and has a quick mouthful, "Yes, strong stuff indeed. I wouldn't reccomend drink the wine too much either now." He pushes a plate of food ove to her and grabs some for himself.

Zachana frowned at the food and touched a hand to her temple,
"My, I feel extremely giddy now. See what 600 years of living get you?" she gave him a loony grin and flopped onto her back, holding back giggles.
