I second (maybe fourth?) the posts about whining about inferior teams. I saw the Denmark-Sweden game and paid special attention to the effort and desire shown by both sides. If there was anything to the conspiracy rumour, I wanted to see it myself. CONCLUSION- no conspiracy. The Swedish keeper had to make some truly amazing saves to keep his team in the game, even in the late stages. Was Denmark playing for the tie when they were up 2-1: I don't think so.
If Italy was so superior, why didn't they win a game against Denmark OR Sweden and assure themselves of moving on? Instead of taking their defeat with class and a resolve to do better next time, they are blaming anything and everything but themselves. Maybe they should slag their best offensive player (arguably Totti) for showing so little sportsmanship and good judgment that he got kicked out for the preliminary round!

You saw what happened when our coach decided to play a little more defensive against the Czechs, we were overrun. If we would have kept our offensive intentions, perhaps we would have scored one or two goals more. Scoring is Hollands one strong point, defending is our weakness. So there's an opportunity for Sweden's strikers.
