I sit at my desk
And stare out the window
Gray skies, clouds gathering
Nothing to be seen
What is it all about, anyway
What is life about?
School, dreary, boring work
Home again, just killing time
School the next day, and the next
All the way until graduation
Then college, work, more work still
And then to find a job
Simply doing something boring
For the the next 40 years
Until I am so old that I can
Simply sit home and wait to die
What is life about, this dreariness?
Why do we bother to live at all?
I look at the window and see
The clouds part for a moment
A ray of sun slips through
Then all is as it was before
So that is what all life is about
A ray of sun through a gap in the clouds
A spark flying through the night air
A star briefly visible
Just for a moment, then it's gone
A candle lit against the darkness
For a moment, for eternity

err never minds this one it is complete Crap skipp ahead please.

They say I'm mad,
Call me crazy,
because I talk to myself,
Dance and sing without muisc,
And laugh for no reason,
Yet others do,
But for them it is sweet,
Because they are kids,
And I'm Fourty-five.

The dragon soars across the land
spreading wings wider than mountains
underneath them a breeze grows
whispering in trees after his passing
Far below the deep green land
sometimes divided by rivers like thread
glistening in the golden light
The dragon soars on and on
Above the lakes, above the forests
In the dark sky stars abound
Like pearls against deep velvet cloth
The land has changed, the forests gone
Plains, flat and almost endless
shining silver by the crescent moon's glow
Until they meet the rolling horizon
Where the hills begin to grow
Finally the sun rises again
Tinting the new mountains rose-colors
Slowly everything begins to fade
The reddened sky disappearing
I open my eyes to realize the dream
And the fact that now I dream no longer
This is the real world, this dreary gray place
And as I lie awake in bed
I think: what is real and what illusion?

Wasting yet more time;
Wondering if I ever will
Make this Haiku rhyme.

Geez... now we are overflowing with poets!!!

When I think of her
Everything goes round and round
Like some spell bound
To make my existence a little weird
Going all around
Like the waters falling around
The mountains
Circling round and round
Forever be astounded
By this awful yet rounded
Circle of bounds...

err... what the ****?!?!?!

The stars join me
In my lone state
I hope that someday
We can spend some time
Under the moonlit sky
And gaze upon the gazing stars
And be together, forever
Sharing the moment together...

Ohhh!! I really like this one:

As I stare into the silent night. I think there is a better day some where out there. Maybe over the sea. Is it a state of mind, is it a line of site that I am not seeing. Who’s to say. Who’s to say.

There is a golden stairway. At the top there is a silver floor. And a window made of glitter. Only in my dreams can I see out the window. Only in my dreams I can go up the stairway.

Who’s to say.

You can trust psychics, you can look into world shaking prophecies. Maybe the stairway lies in the whispering winds. Who’s to say.

There is a better day for somebody. A glittering window for somebody to look out. Green lights for some, red lights for others. Days of confusion, few people know.

The sun disappears behind a cloud. When it all comes again. Something pushes away, an elemental force pulls . When I think about my past years, it reminds me of my coming. Who’s to say what will pass.

You can trust psychics, you can look into world shaking prophecies. Maybe the stairway lies in the whispering winds. Who’s to say.

What do you guys think? Do I need to add more too it?

I run along the dark, twisted path
Roots snatching at my feet
Above my head the black sky covered
No stars, only a scarlet moon
The trees grasp with quivering branches
Their silent screams echo unheard
Strange beasts crawl among the shadows
Brushing me with invisible talons
The path is endless, ever narrowing
There, at the side, a light is lit
Yellow and welcoming in the darkness
I leave the path to run after the light
Making my way through the twisted underbrush
The trees grow darker and taller
Obscuring even the blood-red moon
I run, I sprint, fleeing to the light
Fleeing from the shades following me
Finally, I reach the light
But as I stand there, it flickers and dwindles
I stand alone in the deep dark forest
I turn to go back, yet the trees are too close
Then suddenly, a path appears
Smooth and straight, shining slightly
It leads away, into the darkness
Yet what choice do I have, here among evils
I follow the path into the heart of the woods

Can anyone tell me what you think this means and where it's set?

RETRIBUTION

The door closes behind me
And a musty smell penetrates my senses
It goes straight to my head, the heady feeling inside
A spider drops from above me
Nearly landing on my head
I watch as it begins
To weave its intricate web
Spiders must be the first artists
How can it see in the darkness
The darkness that shields us both
From everyone else
An intangible separation
This place gives me the creeps
I’m starting to get claustrophobic
And then it comes
The ethereal voice from the other end
“Yes, my child?”
How can He hear me here?

If i had to guess i would say a confession booth (or whatever they're called).
As for the meaning, i'm not altogether sure.
