I left some of the items like the pommel gem, sword hilt etc. I had no room in my inventory, since I was only using 3 char. at the time.

Ok, I used an editor to put the items back in!

Nah, that's not cheating, since I already found the items anyway.

Well, technically it is, since you lost them. But, we'll let you do it this time.

So if you lost your camera somewhere, you'd be entitled to a new one just like that, "because you found the items anyway"?

I didn't "lose" them in the first place. I put them in a chest since I had no inventory space. How am I supposed to know that couldn't come back to that area once I was finished. It's easy to criticize when you've played the game a bunch of times. I don't think that 1 weapon will have a big affect on the game anyway, I just wanted to see what it was since I carried the parts around for so long. I still like my other sword better anyway!

In Variol's defense, I expected to be let back into the City of Caverns the first time I played. You climbed down on a rope. A magic rope at that. Logic would say you could take the rope back up. In CLUAing the items in, Variol pretended the party climbed the rope back up to fetch the items. Or cast a simple level 5 mage spell to teleport back up, which would be within the party's ability at the time.

Ok, I'm onto ToB. How long is the expansion compared to SoA?
