I had wondered about the Githyanki "wild mage" thing myself, since he couldn't do the special Wild Mage spells and have wild surges unless ToB was installed. Hmph...I have a feeling that wild magic was something that was originally planned for SoA, but if it was rushed, it was delayed until ToB came out.
