Sunglass Man Re: Witcher questions

does anyone know if you can get the igni fire sign in chapter 2? i kept getting killed every time i went into the cave in chapter 1 so i stopped trying and just moved on, except that now i don't have any way to kill the plant monsters in the swamp (echinops, archespore, coccocadine) because i don't have fire and a torrch is obviously not good enough. So I REALLY NEED the Fire magic. please help.

If you do the quest in the sewer where you have to defeat the cultists I think there is an Igni in there. When you first enter go to the right and go up into on of the 3 upper rooms. I think there is one there ( don't hold me to that). If not I guess you will have to use an older save.

I'm not sure about with the other two but certainly on the echinops they can be killed without fire. You need to get in really close to the base and then attack using fast style, this will limit the amount of damage which you take and kill them after about 5 or 6 sequences, provided you can sequence the attacks so that they just blend in one to the next.

I killed the Echinops in the first chapter without fire. Haven't got to the one's in the swamp yet though, so they may be tougher. Although that will be rough as the first ones nearly did me in a few times! Love how you face them drunk... LOL

Oh and for the crypt, cat potion rocks!

I have a question for you all- I didn't manage to give the ghoul blood to the alchemist in the first part and next time I saw him (can't recall where it was now, but it was after doing the crypt), he wouldn't take it from me, even though my journal says I should give it to him for my reward. I accidentally used the ones I got from the ghouls in the abandoned houses for potions but seems the alchemist won't take what I got in the crypt?

The 1st echinop you meet in the swamp is a "special" one that will follow you around if you don't kill it the 1st time you encounter it. It is mean, very tough and I have the scars to prove it. Also you could run into 2 regular ones plus this one if you dont kill the special one right away ( shudder did that... don't want to do it again.) If you don't have the Igni, you may try a blizard potion to slow him down but don't hold me to it.
I don't think you can complete quests that occurred in a previous chapter..... but you can keep things in your inventory that will count towards quests in other chapters.(I.E. if you keep a drowned dead brain from the chapter 1 lake encounter, it will count towards the 10 needed in chapter 2 or the royal wyvreen eggs will carry over from 3 to chapter 4 I think as well).

nevermind. I found the igni sign finally. it is in the elven ruins in vizima's swewers just past the trade quarter entrance. also, the fast style does work well for killing echinops and archespores. the one that follows you around is a coccocadine which i have not been able to kill as yet, but I will try it now that i have igni.

The coccocadine will keep following you until its killed and evertime you enter the swamp ( which is a pain when trying to do some of the other quests ou there). The way I did it was to get it to attack just out side the brick layers town, so I could run back and heal when beat up ( it won't follow into the town). I used swallow and blizzard. Also try to get a level in IGNI so you can power it up. I think it is also a bounty so I would try to kill it as soon as possible.

Coccocadine? Is that the big echinops? I killed it the same way, run away when HP are low and hit it with a powered-up Igni.
