Yeah those glasses are useful usually the first thing I do when I am in the slums district is to pick them up. My number one mage is Edwin who can't identify but I also have Jan memorise a few identify spells so with this and the glasses identifying isn't a problem.

Identify is not the most important divination spell. What about True Sight? And Wizard's Eye? I can play without the second, but, especially if you are soloing, True Sight will become mandatory. Regarding all those, I choose sorcerer, or, if only mages count, generalist mage. My first solo was the generalist

And where do you get the glasses of Identification in the Slums? I remember buying them from a merchant, but it was in the Promenade, IMO.

Wow. I like either Abjurer or Diviner! Am I the odd one out?

That is only if I have to take a direct mage class. Otherwise it's Sorceror throughout!

And what good may the diviner be? Missing all the conjuration spells is rather ugly...

Personally, I dont see what people find so good about speciality Mages, who only gets access to limited spells. IMHO, much better to just be a plain Mage or Sorcerer, so you dont miss out on any spells!

Ehrm, sorcerors misses out many more potential spells than specialist wizards. Still they do have a choice about which they will miss out.

Of course. What I ment is that they can choose from all spells, which the specialist Mages cannot.
