How about a screensaver that might do something useful? www.grid.org has you d/l a program that works on a tiny piece of a really big problem -- things like scanning electromagnetic signals from space to detect intelligence, cancer research, etc. Their program can run constantly in the background, or just act as your screensaver. I started using it a few months ago, & haven't had any problems on my machine. No adware/spyware.
