Anyway, EB Games is already on my Boycott list. They were added by Gamestop, someone I've been ignoring for a while now. I have quite a list now

Hmmmm ok I will boycott them for everything else except every 6 months for Guild wars as they are the ONLY place in Australia where you can buy Guildwars. Nowhere else stocks it.

I scored a copy of Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance from EB, which is a hard as hell game to find in my area.

Not to mention my $5 used copy of Sly Cooper. And the cheap used copy of Windwaker and Starfox Adventures (Which was another $5 score)

So maybe I don't mind them pushing consoles a lot. That's the way they've been for a bloody while now, and I've always found places like Best Buy, etc. to have a better PC gaming selection BY FAR.

So's, I won't be boycotting the local EB because I score nice titles from it. Some very nice cheap used copies too.

(Same goes for other primarily console shops. I scored Disgaea from a Babbage's, and that game is hard as bloody hell to find ANYWHERE)

Sorry about your luck: http://www.bestbuysux.org/

It was a simple Lenny Kravitz cd. We got it as a gift and already had it. Tried to return it -- they wouldn't even give store credit. Asswads.

Except EBGames used to be primarily a computer gaming shop.

I still don't get why people hate Best Buy so much. I've never had problems with them ever... neither bor nor after I started working there. Now that I've started working there, I see that its the people who get us all pissed off. It's well known there's a shortage of people to work in Alberta. Yet these jackasses come into computers (where I coincidentally do all my stocking mostly), stand around for about a minute watching the lone computer guy on shift because we can't hire anymore, then come and bitch at me first because a. They've been standing for "half an hour" waiting for some service and b. When I offer to try and help they turn me away because I'm not in that department and just walk away with a huff. When you guys go in to whine about stuff, try to be at least respectful of the associates. From some of your comments here, I can see that some of you are of the type that treat them like dirt for following company policy. Don't argue for the sake of arguing, we aren't going to bend for your benefit.

[/QUOTE]Contrary to popular belief, I like my job. It's you asswads that make it unpleasant. The reciept policy is quite universal to any store. This isn't anything new either. Live with it or don't come to my store and make my day miserable.

The point of the reciept policy is to prevent theft. Anyone could have just walked in, grabbed the product off the shelf and walked up to customer service with it pleading your case. So do you see why these asswads wouldn't take it now?

Sir G, I feel your pain. I briefly worked in retail, on the floor no less. Briefly. Maybe it was just my bad luck to work in a place with sucky coworkers and sucky customers, but that job made me suicidal. After about a week I fully understood the company policy of NOT allowing employees to purchase firearms from their store.

Anyway Z, you have my sympathy, but I'm not sure a boycott would count for much from me, simply because we don't even have EB Games or Gamestop, or any of that stuff in this part of the world.
