Hmm Ok seems I am now seeing some new Goodness in these same systems for only a fraction more.

Here are the new setups.

Quote:
1 x Gainward 7900GT 256mb DDR3 PCI-E x16 video card, 2x DVI, TV out
1 x PC-3200 2048MB Corsair TwinX Pro 184-pin DDR SDRAM CAS 2 (2x 1024MB sticks) 400mhz w/LEDs and heatspreader
1 x Thermaltake Soprano Black Steel case w/side window, 2x 12cm fans, 430w PSU
1 x AMD Athlon64 X2 4200+ 64-Bit CPU, Dual-Core 2x 512K Socket939 w/AMD fan-heatsink
1 x Black 3.5inch 1.44mb Floppy drive, Sony
1 x 74Gb Western Digital Raptor 10,000 RPM SerialATA Hard Drive, 16mb cache
1 x 200Gb Western Digital Caviar SATA-II drive, 8mb cache, 7200RPM
1 x Asus A8N-SLI-Deluxe Skt939 AMD64 board, 2x PCI-x16, DDR, 3x PCI, Multi-SATA RAID, IEEE1394, 2x GigaLAN, Audio
1 x Asus DRW-1608P3 Black 16x DVD+/-R, 8x Dual Layer+R IDE Drive, retail pack w/Nero and AsusDVD software
They have changed the AMD processor to the X2 4200

The new Intel Box is below.

Quote:
1 x Gainward 7900GT 256mb DDR3 PCI-E x16 video card, 2x DVI, TV out
1 x Corsair Twin2X 2048MB 240-pin DDR2 XMS2-5400 Twin Pack (2x 1024mb sticks) w/heat spreader, not for DDR boards
1 x Thermaltake Soprano Silver Steel case w/side window, 2x 12cm fans, 430w PSU
1 x Intel Core2 Duo E6400 2.13Ghz (Conroe) Processor, Dual core LGA775 2mb cache, w/Intel Cooler
1 x Silver 3.5inch 1.44mb Floppy drive, Sony
1 x 320Gb Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 7200RPM SATA-II hard disk, 16mb cache
1 x 74Gb Western Digital Raptor 10,000 RPM SerialATA Hard Drive, 16mb cache
1 x Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 LGA775 P4/C2D P965 board, 1066FSB, DDR2, 2x PCI-x16, 3x PCI-x1, 2x PCI, SATA-II, GigaLAN, Firewire, Audio
1 x Pioneer DVR-111D Silver OEM IDE DVD-RW, 8x DVD+/-DL, 16x DVD+/-R, 6x DVD-RW, 8x DVD+RW, 40x CD-R w/software
So how does the X4200 compate with the Core2 Duo E6400 2.13Ghz. This is mainly for gaming. I can't find to many comparisions between thses two However in their big brother tests the intel seems to out perform the AMD.

Their is only a $70 AUD Difference between the AMD and the Intel. But would I see a performance increase between the AMD and the Intel?

Since the Core2 systems are so new it'll be hard to get "personal experience" feedback, I'd recommend checking out the online reviews that are popping up.

I think both systems will give you more than you need -- at this time. I just built my first AMD system and I am very pleased.

With price cuts coming hard and fast you'll do very well.

But keep in mind that Vista, DX10, DX10 video cards, and new AMD chips - I'm not talking about the current AM2 chips - are comingout in 2007.
