Ok, it was a poor display, but let's not lose heart. I think England will be much improved on the return of Rooney and johnny even you can't deny England have real talent in defence and midfield.

Strewth that match was poor, England did not try and Paraguay where useless zzzzzzzzzzz wake me up.

The English midfield, which is supposed to be there strength, was poor, bar Beckham. The left side of midfield (Cole) was invisible.

Crouch is a joke. The man is about ten foot tall but still gets out played in the air. Plus he insists on bringing his elbows up when he jumps (to an grand height of 3cm) thus clonking defenders on the head. All he has to do is stand there! And why is he never in the box when needed?

Reminds me of Heskey.

I thought Joe Cole played well, as did Beckham (nice to see him on form), Ferdinand did all right and Robinson looked with it too, although not really tested this match.

So disappointing, I thought there was some really slick football from them in the first half...but it was like a different team after half time.

Oh yeah, and what was Gerrard doing knocking balls into the crowd for half the match with crappy shots at goal?

Crouch has a terrible first touch, he is just so long legged he can reach further when he screws up with a pass.

We played MUCH better in the first half.

I would be right wouldn't I Madman if I assumed you support Scotland, and anyone playing against your ill bred cousins south of the wall .

I'm not denying anything, England are extremely talented, except one way or another they keep performing below their average. I've seen almost all qualifying matches from England, and i see absolutely no reason to regard this team as titlefavourites. I guess you can get away with a performance like today's against Paraguay or Trinidad and Tobago, but when faced with teams like Italy or Argentina, just to name a few, they'll have to come up with something better, or else it's exit.

Sweden got what was coming to them, with chickenshit tactics like that you don't deserve to win. How on earth can you sacrifice 4 defenders on 2 strikers, and very poor strikers too if i may say so. Even with 11 against 10, Sweden's coach didn't have the nerves to switch to a more offensive type of play, what a friggin coward. Great day so far, two extremely boring matches.

Well I must say Ivory Coast surprised here. They started out very sloppy, losing the ball alot in midfield, but got out okay in the end with many chances and ballposession. Too bad those argentinian defenders are there like bees.

Argentina is looking solid as ever, very effective as well, but despite being down 2-0, the Africans are pretty impressive, especially their midfield appears to be powerful. But it's exactly what i expected, good players, but as a team they still have a lot to learn, sometimes it's complete chaos.
