Depends.... if they're a buncha script kiddies they should'nt be allowed to use comps for life, but if they're veteran's then their abilities SHOULD be diverted towards a better cause

Why punish the cats and rats? Draw and quarter them! "Hangin's to good for 'em".

Out of those choices, drawn & quartered is the only one that'll GUARANTEE they never do it again... But there weren't enough choices.

How about tying them down, naked & spreadeagled, under the hot sun, 'till they get severe sunburn. While that's peeling away, do it again. And again. And again...

My favorite torture/punishment was in a Tom Clancy book, "Without Remorse". John Clark used a diver's decompression chamber as an interrogation device. Pump up the pressure to simulate a deep dive, then crack the air valve & give 'em the bends, over and over and over...

Can you tell I don't like the pond scum who write those things?

Bah. Those choices are ill... I think that virus makers should be punished depending on the virus. if its a bit of harmless "fun", you know, to tease a friend, nothing very serious that goes away after a couple of days, then I think its fine... but a destructive virus... chain them up. Force them to work on firewalls and finding other hackers etc.

The definition of the word virus is something like this; an unwanted program or one that hasnt been authorised. etc etc..

I think it really depends on the virus, and its intend....
