I like just about everyone who's been mentioned so far. Some definate favorites include Spider-Man, Captain Marvel(Kree warrior), Thor, Cyclops... I couldn't possibly pick a favorite or even name all the choices.

How about expanding the question to include groups, and the time period you think they were best? For me it would be...

Justice League 60s (Superman, Batman, Green Lantern, Black Canary, Green Arrow, Red Tornado)

Avengers 70s (Thor, Captain America, Vision, Scarlet Witch, Iron Man, Hawkeye, Yellowjacket, Wasp, Beast)*these were the books that brought me over to Marvel from DC with more serious stories*

X-Men late 70s and 80s(Prof X, Cyclops, Phoenix, Wolverine, Nightcrawler, Colossus, Storm, Banshee)

Well looking back a few years to some of the super heros. I would have to say daredevil was cool. A blind man that could kick some butt. I like the x-men. I can't wait for this name to be changed to make it poltically correct. As a kid I use to love watching spider-man the old classic cartoon where the same building would go by about 20 times.

I like Beast from the X-Men, I love the Avenger's especially Thor and Iron Man. Favorite villians would have to be Carnage and Venom. Cant wait for the new Spidey movie to come out here. Hopefully Toby McGuire does a good job as everyone's favorite friendly neighborhood web-slinger.

Congratulations, Fuzzy Animal.

I had been thinking of starting this very same thread. Not only did you beat me to the punch, but we also agree on our favorite hero

your friendly, neighborhood SPIDERMAN.

I fell in love with him when I was a teenager. I had always thought he was kinda wimpy until a saw a cartoon strip in a newspaper. Spiderman was fighting some guy that used a modified Cat-O-Nine Tails Whip as his main weapon. In the final showdown, this guy was holding Mary Jane captive, but Spiderman had managed to get the whip away from him. The villain was threatening Mary Jane and Spidey was too far away to reach him. How could he end this threat without violence? He began talking to the villain...and as he did, he slowly rolled the "rock-hard" handle of the whip back and forth in his hand. Then he began squeezing it harder and harder. He very calmly ground the handle into powder while he talked to the guy. I NEVER KNEW SPIDERMAN WAS THAT STRONG!!! I've loved him ever since.

A very close second, of course, is everybody's favorite brawler - Wolverine. I loved the fact that he would fight anybody, anywhere, anytime. He NEVER backs away from a fight and he isn't scared of anybody. PLUS, he can rip darn near anything to shreds in a matter of seconds with those wicked claws of his (at least he used to. I quit collecting comics altogether when Marvel refused to put the adamantium back in Wolverine's body). They had also made him a little more mellow and completely abandoned the original "hairy little beserker image" that made him so popular to begin with.

Spins a web any size..catches thieves..just like flies...watch out here comes the Spiderman.... Oh sorry I just got a little carried away there. Perhaps I should of included groups of superheroes in the subject line. I like the X-men a lot. The movie was good. I can't wait till the Spiderman movie comes out!!!

I agree, the movie was great! It was one of the best comics-turned-movies since Batman..

Good thing there are so many Spiderman fans here, cause he's my favorite superhero too. I never really collected any comics, although I read a few. I just saw him on that FOX spider man cartoon awhile back.
