Well I played BG 1 first And loved it. And I played BG 2 and loved it. But since I played both my vote is going to go to BG 1. It had a very good feel to it. It was very easy to get into. But after playing the second one it is very hard to go back to the first one.

I liked BG2 because i've never played BG1 ( YET!!!!! ) im still finding it where i could buy one.

In fact... Icewind Dale. I like it much more than any other IE game. I can't wait to play IWD2.

But if I have to choose... BG1.

I love SoA. Much better story line, you can interact with NPC's, who are more developed , too. And, there are romances. Plus, the villian is MUCH worse.

No hesitation. Planescape : Torment!!!
If you like BG games & fantasy novels, rush on it. Much more dialogs & less fights than in BG but a 10 times greater storyline. Marvellous dialogs. If you don't like reading forget about it though.
