If it was myself, I would do it, if I could find a painless way of course, if it was someone else, I wouldn't.

No God wouldn't say that.......it is probably the illusion of Satan.

He did not create:

Quote:
Thou Shalt Honor Thy Father And Mother
for nothing.

We were asked this exact same question by a lecturer at Uni
.
My answer was "Since the situation could never arise, I shan't ask such an irrelevant question - this is a Systems Structure unit, not hypothetical ethics"
.
I was really good at heckling at Uni

I would not kill my parents.

I am not responsible for the actions of others - not the foolish and the short-sighted that start wars, nor of the soldiers that made a choice that put them at risk, nor of the unlucky people who find themselves caught in the middle. It is them at fault - and for me to commit a wrong, to hurt myself to save them from their own foolish selves, just doesn't sit right with me. Why should I help them if they cannot help themselves? Would they be grateful? Would they care? Would they be resentful at me for restricting them, however much it would cost me and however much good it would do? Why should my parents die for that? What have my parents done to deserve the death I am told to give them?

However, I am responsible for my own actions - and I want my parents alive and my soul free of guilt. If God can end war, just like that, and he forces me to do something like that to bring it about, he's not worth my worship.

Besides, my Dad is an old, crusty bouncer at a pub, and he'd probably beat me up.

i would have to say no. wars are great for thinning out populations, and advancing technology. if it wasnt for wwII, thered be no atomic reactor. if there was no Revolutionary War, wed all be overrun by the british, a fate worse than death! and also, whos to say that our lives wouldnt become so boring that we just kill ourselves? i mean lets face it, the computer your using right now was developed during a war, or at least the model for it was! anyone ever heard of ENIAC? it was the first computer, it was made during a war, and that fact assured its continued development. also, did i mention that without it, aliens would come down from the sky and enslave us because there would be no weapons?
