Johnny Cash is a personal favorite of mine. His last album was very good.

An interesting side note on A Boy Named Sue (a few actually), The record version is the first take, from the first time he saw it, and two it was written by Shel Silverstein, who according to a friend of mine who's a huge fan, was a regular contributor to playboy (much like Jack Handy and his Deep Thoughts), and is worth checking out, even if only for the Street version of Hamlet. *warning there is a bit of offensive language*

Yes, his main job was a songwriter, won a few awards too. None of those compare to "Folsom Prison Blues" or "Midnight Riders" however.
