As a pommie ex-pat living in Melbourne I reckon it's great news - congrats to all those plucky Socceroos! Roll on the World Cup next year, and please please please draw Oz in the same group as England. Just think of the party in Fed Square if that happened...

I am thrilled!!!

Guess what ? It IS football, for whatever reason you twits started calling it soccer. All nations that call football soccer should be banned from any international stages.

Now Trinidad & Tobago have qualified. I like it when the little countries qualify along with giants like England & Brazil.

That's some good work there wellard. Are there plans on using similar techniques on all our sporting teams when flying abroad?
The cost was rumored to be in the region of $500,000 so teams will have to think twice. But compared to the tired looking Uruguay team who had to travel on normal cramped commercial seats rather than the TLC they got on Qantas the price was well worth every cent.

Do they play soccer in Germany? Or anywhere apart from Australia and the US for that matter?

At 500k, that's STEAP for a plane ticket. But we take our sporting very seriously.

Divided by about 30 soccer australia players and staff and about 20 or so media perhaps not so bad Sever. The "real" price paid would be different due to Qantas being the major sponser of the Socceroos.
