I hate our local dentist and i have bracers (argh)!

They have some little rotating thingymajig that they just wipe your teeth over with and whilst it doesnt hurt. The very sound of it just makes me..... *shudder*.

My dentist also has a forest of hair coming from his nostrils which, if it gets any longer, will make a moustache.

I had gas when I got my wisdom teeth pulled. It didn't knock me out, and by some miracle the whole thing took five minutes. As proof of this, I looked at my watch before they started working, and then again after they were done. Five minutes. Those stupid pain pills they gave me for after were useless. Two days i slurped food through a straw because moving my jaw hurt too much.

Also have six fillings, which isn't really that bad, because my ex had *at least* twenty fillings. Well I think either the denstist shortchanged me on some novocaine or I developed an immunity to it, because the last filling I got hurt like hell, after TWO shots and about 20 minutes of waiting. You know those rubber plug things they put in your mouth so you don't bite off the dentist's fingers if he hits a nerve? Well, I bit halfway through one of those, he even showed me when he was done drilling and pasting. I say he's darn lucky that thing was in my mouth or he'd have lost a finger for sure. The novocaine from those two shots never did kick in, either....

To be fair, the guy is a good dentist, but I hate shots more than I hate the agony of getting drilled on, and I figure if double novocaine wasn't gonna cut it, maybe I should just deal with it.

ick.
i put off dental stuff until something falls out, usually.
i have a temporary crown that's falling apart, which hurts and also leaves my mouth less than fresh most of the time. but, i don't have dental insurance anymore and the school of dentistry here actually charges nearly full prices and requires payment up front. i'm still so spoiled by nyc, where dental school visits were always free. *sigh*

looks like i've gotta go buy some dental insurance asap.

Aw man! Now the whole world knows!

The only thing I hate about the dental hygenists is how they stab and poke around at your gums, and then tell you to brush more because they are bleeding(and I do brush enough... my teeth are healthy!). I swear, after what she does to them, I'm surprised I have any gums left. And so, one time when she was busy poking her hand in my mouth I bit her. Her fault, really, she told me to close my mouth while it was still in.

I don't have any problems with going to a dentist and I never use anastaetics either, with the exception of two times when I was about to get a bracer and needed to pull out four teeth to leave more room for the rest.

You guys oughtta sell this..." and everybody laughed. Then they helped me into the car & I passed out again for the ride home. It was a great high...
LOL VulcanRider. That sounds a lot like my experience with wisdom teeth. I went in at like 10:30, and my mom worked at that office, so she took me home at 4:30 lol. I don't remember being awake, but apparently I repeatedly asked them to turn off the soft rock station playing on the radio. I also asked for water, and when they couldn't give me any, I said "You tell that doctor to get me some water."

So, the gas makes me belligerent apparently.

I couldn't walk to the car either, even after all that time. I was stiff, sore, and weak, like I'd been asleep for weeks.

My sister is a dental hygienist. I'm pretty sure she takes sadistic pleasure for all the percieved wrongs I did to her when we were kids. I thank the gods she lives 500 miles away lol. Hey maybe you know her Arvon, sounds like it! Run!!!!!!!
