Well not that I think you are ever wrong, but the subject is so obvious this hardly counts now does it...

And Eric Clapton? That evil halfwitted phony poser, throws his kid out of a window just so he can dedicate a so...

Okey I will shut up now... lets just say I am not a Clapton fan...

How about Santana?

Sorry for all the death metal fans out there, but I don't reckon ramming on your guitar to be an indication of how good you are. Every moron can play chords.

Ditto that.
Amen to thatm, although he is not my favourite artist by far, he is easily the most skillfull guitar player. This is what the thread was asking for, not your favourites, but the greats.

Well there are also bands that don't just simply ram a few chords

I think I can play the guitar much more better than Slash or Kurt Cobain. I appreciate and respect their melodies like in the long one of Slash in ''November Rain'' song and like all of the melodies of Kurt Cobain in the album ''From The Muddy Banks of Wishkah'' album.

Jimi Hendrix can be 6 th in my top 10 that's why I've not typed him. I think the ones supporting him should listen to the albums ''Trilogy'' and ''Rising Force'' of Yngwie J Malmsteen. He's real legend seeming not to be so popular as Jimi Hendrix. I was in the concerts he've performed in Istanbul several times and Yngwie's live performance and show w the guitar was really magnificent.

And I also have to say that Hetfield and Ulrich r announced to be in the world's top 5 guitarists list announced my the authorities.

First off...Ulrich is the drummer. We Metallica fans would be VERY upset if they decided to let him play the guitar.

So...

Kirk Hammet
Carlos Santana
Stevie Ray Vaughan
Jon Petrucci
