LOL at the "no tolerance for intolerance" quip!
I am glad to see that I'm not the only person that sees the irony here... Socialogically (or Anthropologically) speaking, do you think that people may use relativism defensively? Is it something used to hide behind when confronted with a question they don't feel comfortable answering? I would guess that both absolutism and relativism could be used defensively, but I'm really not too terribly wise in this stuff---I am a physicist, so it's not exactly the research that I would know about  .
