She's young, HiveTyrant. He told me he was finding it especially difficult to deal with the fact(when he got the news he was terminal) that he'd be leaving her before she even got to 14. (I think she's younger than that, though.) Having lost her mother already, it was something he just didn't know how to tell her.

Wow, poor girl
I can't even begin to imagine how hard it would be to loose a mother, but loosing your father too? And before she even turned 14!!! That is extremely sad, and I hope she is able to deal with it, do we know if she is being taken in by relatives?

Is there anyway we could get a card or something together to let his daughter know how much we think of her dad.

I would really like to do something to help the poor girl out and let her know that there are people out there that she has never met but knew her father and are thinking of her and her familt at this time.

Yeah, that would be a great thing to do T-D-C
But it would take some planning....

I think it's a sweet idea but I hesitate to intrude on her at this point, as Mark was very protective and he was a very private person.

edit: sorry HT I missed part of your question- when he learned the news, Animal made arrangements for his business and his daughter. She's monetarily set for life (his words when we spoke about it) but right now it's mostly a matter of time til her grief passes, I think.

Repeating Ziroc, this is the first friend that I never even met, and it feels wierd to miss somebody that is an online contact. But it still is a loss, and I feel as though he were a neighbor.

I did not think it would happen so fast. I thought he had a few months to go.

Not much for me to say here. There are only regrets on my part, for not getting to know him better and spending more time in Undermountain gaming beside him like others have done.

Thats good to hear, I guess it was good that he knew before hand and had time to plan for what was to come after he died, and especially look after his family and buisness.
And I agree, we should let his daughter settle down first, and then maybe send her a mass-signed e-mail or something along those lines so as not to hit her with physical apologies of heaps of people she doesnt know

Oh man that is bad news We never chatted that much but he left a positive impression on me through all his posts. That’s a classy way to remember him Ziroc, he would have liked that for sure.

If a way for one of us to send the Ironworks community respects to his daughter could be found then that would be cool.

This has to be the most upsetting thread I've ever read on the internet.

I never knew Animal, but judging from what others have said about him it sounds like he was a top bloke.

I regret never getting to speak to him.

RIP, Animal.

Man, that is sad news
Animal probably affected more people here at Ironworks than even he relized. Like a pebble in a pond he sent ripples out to ever corner of this place. I knew that if I saw his name on a thread it would be worthwhile to check out. Animal never dissappointed me in that regard...

Rest in peace, Mark.
