Actually, he isn't. He's an honourary member of the Order of the British Empire, meaning that he doesn't get the title 'Sir'. He also isn't counted in the number of Knights in the order.
Which means that he is still beaten by Sir Tim Berners-Lee, KBE (who was also knighted before Bill Gates).

[/QUOTE]LOL, Great Minds Think alike and all that... I was about to post the same thing when I saw you'd done it. In our news they noted that he can add some alphabet soup type thing to the end of his name to indicate he has been knighted but he cannot be 'Sir' since he's not British.
