Aye the looting system sux in WoW, it's what turned me off raiding. The DDO loot system was great, every char has their own loot table which is reserved for that person only. I agree there is nothing in the game that allows one to be truly unique...you can see something you like that someone has and then grind or raid until it drops.

DDO system "was" great? You mean "will be?"

Look, I won't deny this game hooked me as much as anything -- possibly ever. But, I saw this coming, and I'm afraid I'm going to get bored quickly.

As for the "every 60 has that" this is the case on my server. Character creation was cut off for a long time, so as a newly-minted 60 I'm a n00b on my server, and everyone's got better gear.

The solution to this is allow realm transfers and open some realms back up. The game isn't fun when everyone on the server is either a level 60 or an alt. I can't even go roll on the Alliance side and pretend to be a newb because they'll all know I'm an alt.

Well, "was" when I was in beta. Not sure if they made any changes to it now that it's released.

Since you are a new 60 you have much still to do so don't let us old-timers drag you down. It depends though, on if you want to continue investing time in that character without levelling up anymore. I have mates who will just level to 60 and then reroll or stop playing, not caring about their first, second or third PvE tier set.

Well... personally, I was accepted in the D&D online beta but didn't try it. I want to buy it and I decided not to spoil my initial enthusiasm on a beta. I did see my friend play the game 5 minutes.

I plan to keep playing Guild Wars, and get D&D when it come out.

Guild Wars is really fun the pve part is nice, and the PVP is the best I've had. You can create a character at the level cap, and unlock new skills with the faction you get from PVP, so every couple of hours I reroll my pvp character. Yesterday I played a ranger all morning, unlocked an elite mesmer skill and rerolled mesmer, then later rerolled the best necro I ever did. Tonight I plan to retry a mesmer, and maybe a warrior with a new elite axe skill.

How can you get bored with PVP when you change your class and unlock new skills all the time? And the game is free too!

Well, One thing I like about WoW is I have 1 character who has stories, and a history, and I've spent a lot of time on him.

I got bored of PVP a long time ago. Lagging and dying, or freezing and disconnecting, in battlegrounds was so annoying the few times it happened I gave up.

The problem with new characters is it feels almost like a chore to level them to 60. Although, as I play on a roleplaying realm, rolling a sexist, drunk, axe-wielding dwarven warrior, and his calm(er) brother, dwarven priest, roleplaying as them is very fun, even if they are levels 16 and 6 respectedly.

[/QUOTE]You can make PVE characters and those will have stories and a history. And you can keep one slot open for your pvp characters when you just want to kick ass and have fun.

I really like my PVE priest and I take her out to pvp often, or my new mesmer I'm raising, but it's really nice to be able to pvp with any class you want without having to play weeks to get him to the level cap first, then you're tired of the character.

There's no arguing which class is the best like in WoW. You think X class is better, you make one and find out for yourself. You'll realise they get in trouble too.

Well the revamping your char for PVP each time sounds fun I just wasn't too keen on GW pvp..I don't know why. I admit I didn't play the game a whole lot but did log on daily for awhile there (1-2 weeks). The issues that soured me were the rudeness/abrasiveness of most people and that annoying graphical 'stutter' which I still haven't figured out. It took away from my gaming when it was going off every minute or so.

The lack of policing, support and patching of the game for problems like this made me frustrated, so I stopped logging on and went back to WoW. I just checked right now, and the issue is still there. http://www.guild-hall.net/forum/showthread.php?t=13220
