You can get Montaron's body even if you do not have Jaheira in your party. After getting the bird, leave one party member at the doorway and sent only one person to talk to Xzar about Montaron. Xzar will get killed, and the party member you left at the doorway will conveniently prevent the door from closing. Viola! An additional 20,000Xp awaits you.
