Well, my beliefs were
100 Orthodox Quaker, 98% Seventh Day Adventist, and 91% mainline Protestant. I left at least one question unanswered, and felt boxed in by others, forced to answer in a way that was closest, not totally indicative of my beliefs. But, I went and checked out the Quakers as a result. I don't agree with some of their central assertions - despite what the quiz says - but it was an interesting excercise nonetheless. Some of their practices I found appealing. Our "Cafe Church" in Sydney had some similarities for example. I knew I shared some beliefs with the Seventh Day Adventists before doing the quiz, and despite never setting foot in one of their churches. But rock and roll. Take Islam for example-it's a very diverse religion where some parts vaguely resemble Buddhism and others are more mainline or conservative. But I suppose it points in a direction.

It put me as a mormon...but I disagree with some of things it said mormons believe in...for example, I do NOT believe God has a wife...
And like others, I didn't like the feel of this quiz. I prefer to say all I am is a Christian, full stop. I don't care what other denominations there are, I folllow Christianity. I hate the idea of so many different branches existing all with differing, and often conflicting, beliefs. The problem is, saying all I am is a Christian is only a result of my stubborness as others will take that differently depending on what they believe a Christian is...ah, the complexities of life... |
