I could be totally wrong here, but maybe he was on steroids ? It happens more than we know in the world of football. It's just not quite normal that a young, healthy, strong athlete, drops dead just like that. If he had a weak heart, they should have had a medical report on that, cause that's the first thing teams wanna see, before letting you sign a lucrative contract.

If that was not the case, than something smelly is going on here. A full autopsy is in order here, as harsh as that may sound.

Yes that has crossed my mind too. Maybe he did take steroids and he didn`t make it. But i hipe he did not did this.

Not many footballers take steriods, not many at all. He was fit as a fiddle, and although it was hot in France that day, he would have played in hotter weather back home.

Sometimes people just get unlucky, I believe he was one of those.

Man City have retired the No.23 shirt forever, FIFA have announced they may change the name of the Confederations Cup to the Marc Vivien Foe Cup, and the final on Sunday is going ahead......with all Cameroon players wearing his name on the shirt, and I believe all wearing the number 17 shirt.

It was also revealed he didnt die of a stroke, as initially thought. But he may have slipped into a coma on the pitch.

Very sad, he was a good player, and I enjoyed watching him play.

He also scored the last ever goal at Maine Road.

I made a VERY valid point. There was an interview here the other day, with an ex medical advisor who worked with a lot of footballplayers. He made quite a few shocking statements, about the "innocent" world of football. If there aren't many players being cought, it's mainly because they're using something fairly unknown until now. Sometimes players don't even know they take something, there could be something forbidden in their foodsupplements. Like what happened to Dutch players Jaap Stam and Edgar Davids. Or at least that's what they want us to believe.

Something similar might have happened to Foe. In that case there IS someone to blame, someone in the medical world. That's why they should go to the bottom of this, or it could happen again.

No doubt there will be an autopsy, which will likely be made public eventually (not sure what the disclosure requirements are but I imagine it's newsworthy enough). Till then however it's all speculation, and I guess we have to go on is what we've been told.

well, there is this news that saying "Foe is unwell before the match". maybe this has something to do with it.
