To be completely non-committal, I also think Abits AB-IC7 would make a nice choice at roughly $160:

But I like Asus just a weeee bit more...plus Ausus has the RAID built in.

The FSB (front side bus) is just the channel that everything on the MoBo communicates on. They come in multipliers of 100 MHz and 133 MHz. Getting a dual clock (533/800) is more versitile but usualy more $. If you want to shell out for the most $ P4 then just get the 800 MHz FSB. If you want to save on the processor right now, go for the dual clock because you have upgrade room. Don't get a 400 MHz or single 533 MHz FSB as they will obselesse much sooner.

If you run a 500MHZ FSB chip on an 800MHZ FSB MoBo you will just be running at 500MHz instead of 800....usually lower speeds are ok.

Cloudy your MoBo is the SiS chipset, the one I quoted for more $$ was the Intel chipset...I figure keep intel with intel..P4 is intels chip so their chipset would be most compatible

You will only be ok if the base clock is the same (100MHz or 133MHz) otherwise you have timing issues.

Are there other base clock frequencies? Most of the boards for sale are 33/66/100/133 compatible...at least the ones Ive looked at.

No, those are all the Pentium freqs. I mention it because some boards don't support multiple clocks, and the clock must match the desing for the CPU.
