I don't know if the Darkest Day is good since I haven't played it, and I don't know how long it takes to download.
However, if you use a program like Download Accelerator it's possibly to pick up where you left after you got cut off.
You can find Download Accelerator here

Yah, Old Keldorn saved my party's butts once when we were cornered in a narrow dungeon by a pretty nasty gang - I couldn't Fireball in the small space, so Nalia and Aerie cast Web, which got ALL 12 of us stuck - except Keldorn, because his Firecam Armor gives him permanent Free Action - he proceeded to cut up the trapped enemies by himself one by one. And yeah, his DispelMagic I used constantly... He's interesting indeed

Must admit I never really liked Keldorn, never really missed him in my party as well. A matter of preference, of course. And *no* npc in the game is invaluable, every single character has his/her good/weak points, and every character will have qualities of their own to beat certain enemies with. Just experiment along a bit, and you will find out that beating the game doesn't depend on sticking to the same npc's all over again...
