Exactly the reason I'm no SUV fan... here in the US people are buying their personal safety at the expense of others, not realizing that most SUV accidents are single vehicle accidents. Two weeks ago I watched a big blazar spin out on icy roads, as it was heading off the road it decided to collect the car in front of me... I just missed being involved. Get em in deep mud on a back woods trail and they're a great vehicle, put em on roads and they're inferior to just about everything else on the road. High COG, 40 year old suspension designs, heavy. I despise the whole "status purchasing" game anyway, and SUV's are the current "cool" thing. $35,000 for a vehicle that's little different than a 1970 Powerwagon... I was born during the day but it wasn't yesterday.

Enh...it's ok, but personally, I dont like the boxy look. The PT Cruiser was innovative...now everyone just wants to caopy the body style, and since, IMO, the PT cruiser looks lame...all of the immitators look lame as well.

Now THIS is my idea of a dream ride!

Motorbikers the world over are extremly allergic to such things, often resulting in road rash or even worse whenever coming into contact with them. even the mere sight of a VD (volvo driver) can raise the blood pressure to a point beyond boiling.

please add a goverment health warning to your thread title or face the wrath of the B.R.A.V.E. (bikers revolting against v#$@o eggheads) brotherhood.

Just so you can spot me, I don't wear a parka - too scruffy innit? Not as scruffy as all that leather biker gear though eh? And I'll have you know my Lamby is in top condition - they're not *all* mechanical duds

I love your (not so) subtle counter topic posts. Interesting, fun, and deflect attention perfectly! Also, they are usually not grenade topics .... which is nice.

[on topic]

Personally I can't stand SUVs of any kind, and Yuppie SUVs are just pretentious. I do agree with the truck group in that I think trucks should be used as trucks, not status symbols.

I prefer roadsters like the S2000 or the Z3. Can't afford them at the moment, and they suck for cargo space, but hey ...

Not at all like my dear datsun 200b. The most fun i've ever had in a car. This baby was as gutless as they come but, with a little well-timed braking and shifting of balance, could be driven in a straight line down a dirt road whilst constantly turning 90 degrees to either side. I miss that car. I might have to dig up some old pictures of the viking funeral we gave her. She was a die hard machine.

too bad im to young to drive.. but if i had to choose right now id go for a alfa romea 147 GTA if it had to be a realistic priced car. if not id go for a bugatti veyron (i know, not on the market yet. so what?) now that's a big pimpin' fast supercar. image this: a racecar, allowed on the road, with 1001 hp. yup 1001. its so fast you can hardly see it going by. too bad i don't live in germany, where they have large pieces of highway without speedlimit.

on the other hand, i can get there in a couple of hours...

The 147 GTA will be awesome - 250bhp, 300Nm of torque, that 3.5L V6 is awesome.

Speaking of Alfas, here's my GTV which isn't too bad itself (I never get tired of posting it)

So I guess the answer is yes, I like cars. Like like like like like like like like like like like LIKE!!!!!!
