Iran to execute scholar who spoke against blind faith

Hey RB, I missed the reference to their constitution on my first read-through also... Turns out that their constitution does in fact grant the right to freedom of speech. The rub here is that their religious nuts have a significant amount of power and in effect operate as a second governing body, hence this poor sod gets beheaded by the religious nuts at the same time that the parliament is opposing it.
Imagine the fun if Falwell and Roberts and some of their nutball friends had the power to carry out their own trials and mete out justice according to their own laws...

Oh yeah, nice tone to the responses to RB, just the kind of thing to make people think that the respondents are rude jackasses.

I agree with what you said, I would hate it if Fallwell and those types got their way. This place owuldnt be worth living in.

I would think that "rude jackass" is a bit off the mark but thats just an opinion. I'm fairly sure that is how you view me in any case, weather Im nice or not [img]smile.gif[/img] All I did was point out the facts and asked his opinion. I did apologize if he thought I was being mean too.
