EY! The Genesis had Phantasy Star! that was a good series of RPGs!
Though the modern sequel of the game, being an online mmorpg with more hackers than Diablo turned out quite bad... And from what I know, Chrono Cross turned out quite good... so that's one for Chrono, -1 for Phantasy Star (though I think a point should be earned for it comming out on all other console systems, PC, Dreamcast, GameCube, and X-box) So it's 1 to nothing so far... maybe the Gamecube and Xbox version will be better Sega! OH! And the NES's FF1 hasn't been beat yet ! [ 09-24-2002, 09:52 AM: Message edited by: /)eathKiller ]

I think I played Chrono Trigger on the Sega a buddy had. Maybe I have the wrong name, but it was a *rocking* game that we stayed up all night beating.a
Zelda was oh so cool. Cutting trees with your special running sword ability in Z3 - so fun, lol. But, I really liked Zelda 2 - it was so advanced at that time. C'mon what could be cooler than the high jumping boots jump into the air followed by the down-pointed sword attack? And fighting your mirror image at the end - amazing. Does Castlevania count? Wasn't the second one like roleplaying? What about Mario. Mario always rocks in my opinion. The day I first saw the Mario N64 palying in a store was the day I decided to buy it. In the old days, though, with the first NES, there were SO MANY games. There was even one with evil Eggplant wizards (who remembers this?). edit - Kid Icarus, right? - edit So, yeah, I loved 'em. Haha! This reminds me, wasn't there this cartoon about this kid who was playing SNES when he got zapped into his TV and landed up in some kind of SNES land? He got to team up with some Princess, Simon Belmont from Castlevania and Megaman. They also went up against a whole host of Villains from various games (including the Eggplant Wizards), does anybody remember this series?

Yup, I remember the cartoon. MegaMan was a regular. Gods what was the name? I'll post later if I remember.

the SNES was built and used primarily for RPG's, it has been contended it was because the SNES coudn't handle the same kinds of games sega used, but it worked out in the SNES' advantage because of the popularity of RPG's.
My personal fav is shadowrun, hard to find nowadays tho. or secret of mana, that one is just awesome.

![]() Who didn't like SNES rpg's? Chrono Trigger was one of the coolest games ever made. Chrono rules btw! ![]() Super Mario Rpg was just awesome although my friend took it before I got a chance to beat it. A little on the easy side though. Never got to beat FF3 as my friend took that too. Awesome game though! Got through FF2 but that asn't nearly as good lol! Sio if you think random battles are bad in FFX play FF2. Two steps battle. Two steps battle. In FFX at least you can get no encouters. Purifying salt X30. Although you'll have a better chance of finding a weapon with that abiltity. The legend of Zelda A link to the Past. That was my first RPG, and quite possibly my favorite of all time. Who can forget the hookshot? Or your first time you picked up the master sword. That game really took the series to a whole new level. I still like zelda even more than FF, and everyone knows how much i love that! ![]() Ian you sega lover! ![]() ![]()
