Try Arcanum, Fallout 1 and 2, any of the Final Fantasies (especially FF7)
All excellent games. Deus Ex and System Shock 2 are great as well.

I'll go along with most of the titles listed above but no one yet has mentioned Divine Divinity, english version just gone gold & should be in the USA by the end of this month. Have played the demo (400mb) & found it excellent & am waiting for it & IWD2 to hit Oz.

Jarzug's Big Adventure!!

Well, you don't have to go out and buy a game. There's this RPG Maker on the net that allows you to make and play RPGs. Yes, the graphics suck, but the storyline could be awesome. Best, it's free.

Do you want the link?

I'll mention Septerra Core - I thought is was an excellent game of it's type. It shows that a well crafted isometric 2D game can more than hold it's own with 3D games

Amen to those.

Vampire the Masquarade is great too (don't forget to patch it though)

Divine Divinity just went gold, worth checking too.

What about Wiz' VIII ???
It's old school; I like that.
Does anybody know Spirit of adventure? It's about 12 years old now, but this game is the foundation of any experience I made with RPG's later on.

I am a staunch supporter of Fallout 1 & 2. Even the phenomenal Planescape: Torment doesn't come close.
