Do what I was instructed to do when I had the same problem and place the IP address in hosts from your Windows dir.

Or to be more precise (megabot, you should probably do this as well, using freeserve DNS is slightly slower than using native ones. Remember to disable DNS in your network preferences)

start->run->command

and then type:

cd\windows
edit hosts.sam

then put:

24.129.133.61 www.ironworksforum.com # IWF

at the bottom, save and exit

then type :

rename hosts.sam hosts

And reset your computer, and there you are, no more DNS errors. Unless its a different error. Most of those are extremely rare though.

If this dosent fix it, run the command:

ping www.ironworksforum.com and see what that says. Then try

ping 24.129.133.61

The output from those two should tell you whats going on. Or if it dosent my hotmail isnt hard to remember.

Okay here we go step one: find network neighborhood then in there select dial-up networking then right clik on the conection you use to conect to internet look at the pic

Next thing to do: clik on that tcp/ip settings button!! yeah dont worry no harm done!!

And the last thing to do: type in those numbers that i have wrote in Primary DNS and secondary DNS and DONT mess with the other thingies there!!

So try this then IW would be available for you it is for me now lol !!

PS::::: IF THE NUMBERS DONT WORK TRY THIS COMBINATION:::::::
PRIMARY DNS :194-152-64-34
SECONDARY DNS :194-152-64-35

I have some for Win XP to if anyone have problems with that os! Only tell me and i can do a same thing here like for win 98!!

Megabot, one minor point:

When I gave you that advice I didnt know about the superior hosts file fix
(Thanks to aviendha for that one) which works better. Except when the IPs change, but the odds of that happening again are minimal. (It shoudnt have happened this time really as I understand it, but routers are complex beasts at best).

Oh and while Im on you would have been better making the shots smaller (lower screen res and some strategic cropping) because certain members (like me) are on dial-up.

Sorry andrewas i did not think about dial-up lol! But i have not had any problems so fare with this dns settings! And if i should make the images smaller then it would be almost inpossible to see what is writed in the txt in the images!
And i had to do this fast so i did not have the time to cut the pic`s and so on i did this in 5 minutes!
