Im no expert on monitor internals, but sounds like your monitors power supply is going. Mines is too and a couple of times ive thought it was dead totally, but its always come back to life after a few minutes. Its been happening for a couple months now, so hopefuly yours wont die anytime soon either.

As to whether or not its reperable, id think it is, but I woudnt try it myself. Power supplies are *bad* to go into if you dont know what your doing.

Woohoo!!! Just make sure it's a few stinking hot days in the post and I'll make sure I get my laptop in the hospital so I can post all the details!!! *LMAO*
That's the same as my monitor though. I don't think they're made anymore but if you can get your hands on one like it, you'll be doing cartwheels. I've had a lot of monitors in the past including my 15" LCD and nothing comes close to these things. Best thing though is that you can pick them up for a couple of hundred dollars (US) and the damn things simply refuse to die.

Thank you! The possibility of it living a few more months is great! That means there is hope then! I know when my last one died (1998 lol) I got the whole fading thing and the self-kill until it cooled thing as well to the point where it just started up blank. I am just getting slight "jumps" in the pic right now, no absolute shut downs or momentary blank screen at all.

I won't mess with it myself I promise. I am sure a repair would be less expensive than a new monitor too. Now to convince KHaN I am worth it LOL. (Oh geez, I am history if it goes LOL)
LMAO, I'll Fed-Ex it so that it will at least be of a consistency you can stick a fork in...no chainsaws or hack saws required.
I'll look for one of those! Wish me luck! A good immortal monitor is a must on everyone's list of "must-have's"

hehe thanks Moni!

btw be sure to lay a few good, hard slaps on the side of this monitor. I find that a bit of beating always wakes them up!

Anyhow I'm outta here. Got a 6am start tomorrow.

P.S. The network is all up and running too. We had it instaled earlier and it took the tech about 5 minutes to set it up with the router. I felt like killing the bugger seeing how easy he done it after the hell I went through *LOL*
