Probly DNS setting again. On occasion certain aussie ISPs manage to lose ironworks. Maybe this phenonmenon has spread to norway. In any case you should be able to use any DNS settings.

You can test this by bringing up ironworks by IP instead of URL - enter the following address:

http://24.26.79.61

That should bring up the fron tpage, but the links wont work. If it dosent work im out of ideas.

To fix this (its a botch job really, since you cant get to the DNS server),Go into network properties, find the instance of TCP/IP thats bound to his network card, bring up those properites, hit the dns tab and put in these addresses:

194.152.64.34
194.152.64.35

their freeserve settings and so will be quite slow from norway, but they should work. This problem is due to the ISP, so a few emails to tech support woudnt go amiss either. Also if you can find the DNS settings of his own ISP they should appear before the freeserve ones in the list.

Can he get to http://24.26.79.61/index.shtml ?? It should display the frontpage; if he can, it`s a DNS problem; if he can`t, find out if it`s only Ironworks, or just general browsing.
Also, if it isn`t DNS, find out what Operating System he`s running, and if he has upgraded recently.
If it`s DNS (ie. he CAN get to http://24.26.79.61/index.shtml but not www.ironworksforum.com ), he needs to change his DNS server settings. ANY ISPs will work. To change DNS settings, go to COontrol Panel, Connection Manager (or Internet Connections or similar), TCP/IP, cnd change the Primary and Secondary DNS so that they match those of someone in the same country as him who can get to IW. LOL his pics arent "just disappearing". This is what happens when you start your own photo album on Stealthys instead of putting it in the already existing member photo album A "caretaker" of Stealthys site posted a thread here about that, perhaps he should read it! Maybe his pics wont disappear anymore

On a similar note: Velkyn has a similar error for several weeks (!) now... And still no clue how to fix it. Unless something happened in the last two days when I wasn't paying attention and the problem is already fixed.
