I go to the gym twice a day (morning and after work) Mon through Fri. I have to stay pretty big because I bounce at a local club on Wed night and weekends. I currently am 6'1, 220 lbs @ about 7% body fat. I'm currently on an Andro stack while taking Gainer 1000, Twinlabs Whey Protein, Muscle Milk, Universal Creatine, Glutamine, and carbs. After this month I will be cycling off for all of July.
For all you lifters out there, what supplements are you taking? What really works for you?

I only started to seriously train about 4 years ago, but it's now become part of my weekly routine (seeing as I live in body-image-obsessed Sydney
![]() For weight sessions, I always start with 10 mins of bike, 10 mins or running, 10 mins of stepping then I'll hit the weights. I'll work the following different major body parts on alternate sessions (occasionally mixing and matching between free and machine): i) chest, biceps and forearms; ii) quads, calves and abs; iii) back, shoulders and iv) lats and triceps. I make sure I don't work too many body parts in one session, and make sure I don't work the same body part two sessions in a row. I usually don't like wasting time like all the other posers in the gym - I get in, go hard, then get out. I'll go 8 weeks heavy, with low (10-8-6-4-2 pyramid) reps and heavy (relatively speaking) weights, then go 8 weeks light, with high (15+) reps with lighter weights. I've found that my body reacts best with an high-low routine. I've found it also helps to do a couple of dedicated cardio sessions each week - gets your blood circulating and makes you feel really fresh - especially first thing in the morning. It can be tough in winter when it's so hard to get up early. ![]() It was REALLY tough to start off, but once it becomes part of your routine and you see results you start to look forward to it - if you miss a session it gets you down. And you feel good - and if you feel good, you look good. I STRONGLY recommend that those of you who don't exercise - get off your butts and do so. ![]() |

But what I found most beneficial was HMB (hydroxy-methybutyrate or something like that). Reduces recovery time between sessions BIGTIME, helps you build lean muscle tissue just like creatine but without the fluid retention, reduces your fat stores, gets you really toned - and that was my main fitness goal (I'm 173cm, 75kg). The only 2 supplements I use now are Musashi creatine and Musashi HMB. And it's perfectly natural and perfectly safe. Cycle on and off every eight weeks, loading first couple of weeks. Have you ever tried it? There's more than a few steroid munchers at my gym in Sydney - but I've never tried the stuff, and never plan to try. Fitness gained legitimately is more important to me than superficial shape. |

I've never heard of Musashi either. Next time I'm at the health food store I'll see if I can't find an equivalent out here. I'm sure we have it, it's just called something else. The best thing I've used so far is Andro. That really helps you put on some lean mass. I'm totally with you. I avoid roids like the plague. You see guys all jacked up on roids at the gym and half of them are broken out with zits like they were in high school.
