Any person alive in America can buy a sattelite and get not only the BBC but french reporting, italian , and many other's if their cable provider does not have it.

Statement's like that really make me question if you know what you are talking about. The BBC IS in America for anyone who want's it.

..........
No need to question Mordenheim. I've been to America and seen BBC there on PBS

What you get is an Americanised version of the real thing. It's called "BBC America"

Here's tonight's line up for you:

7:00 pm ET Ground Force
7:30 pm ET Changing Rooms
8:00 pm ET Coupling
8:40 pm ET Absolutely Fabulous
9:00 pm ET Absolutely Fabulous
9:40 pm ET Coupling
10:20 pm ET Absolutely Fabulous

You don't get Question Time though. That would be Absolutely Fabulous.

A serious question for anyone who does watch BBC America. Do you have subtitle for Eastenders or is it dubbed?

You get Bargain Hunt! Love it. You get Graham Norton and Father Ted even though they aren't BBC shows.

Come on. Fess up. Does anyone know someone who watches the Beeb in the US?
You are just wrong again. I can't speak for cable but I get a straight feed of BBC on my satellite. I know BBC is on some cable and no it is not pbs. It is not BBC America and it is not watered down. Does that exist on same cable services? Sure but anyone can buy a sattelite and get almost anything broadcasted.

I am not sure what you watched but you are wrong. How many people watch it is far different then "BBC is not in America". Is there something wrong with choices and deciding what you want to watch?

Lets try to nail this one down. What does the little logo in the corner of your picture say?

BBC news 24

It is not my only bbc either. I got BBC One, BBC Two and some other channels. Trust me I know what I am talking about. You are just wrong. Heck, I could get German porn sent right to my sattelite if I wanted it.

America is not a dictatorship you know.

What a bizarre comment. Now that my thread has been derailed because of a one-line throwaway joke at the end of the original post I now return you to your normal programming.

We get a couple BBC channels in Canada depending on how many tears of cable you have,(normal BBC, and BBC newsworld, similar to CBC newsworld except with funny accents ) you can even create your own cable package if you want with BBC. I know you can pay extra for channels in Japanese if you wish so I don't see why you could not order BBC separate. I am sure it is pretty much the same in the US. In Flordia thay even have a Canadian channels for snowbirds. Which I believe as been temporary removed to punish the snowbirds for the actions of their country(not backing Bush in the war).

Re-read original post and at the same time operate the 'spot the winking smile' mode

I would like to buck the trend here and comment "On Topic"

Thanks for the information Donut, it is nice to see that there are people on your side of the pond who don't really think the US can do no right. And yes action in Kosovo was a good thing. In my opinion.

In my view too, it is sad though there is still remnants of instability and good leaders being assassinated in the region.
