If NK exaggerate the threat from the US, that would perhaps unite the North Koreans against US. After all NK is a communist nation and USA is definatly not. They are far from each other when it comes to ideology.

Besides the US ( Bush) has said that NK is a part of the Axis of Evil, so they have all the reasons to worry.
