I definitely agree that stuff like this should be left in covert ops and not discussed publically ever.

Bush shouldn't have said anything while on Air Force One to that congressman.

Bush won't repeal the directive anyway. That would be a PR disaster.

But I know the Israelis have no problem when it comes to targetting suspects wherever they may be and they are quite good at it too well most of the time that is. Then again, they're fighting for their own survival.

I'd bet money that Saddam NEVER goes unarmed! He probably carries a pistol to the bathroom for a poop!

Saddam is very, very, very, well guarded. If you noticed all the photos and video, he always has one man behind him armed at all times and can probably kill anyone in an instant.

Saddam recruits his personal bodyguard from his own tribe and the elite republican guards too are mostly from his own tribe as they swear unswerving loyalty to him.

Saddam never goes anywhere without his bodyguards including meetings with his own trusted advisors.

Makes you wonder how this guy ever sleeps at night. I wonder what his wife thinks.

BTW - haven't the CIA already tried and failed to kill SH. I saw/heard it mentioned (in passing) in a TV special in DK-TV tonight (the program was made by 'Frontline' and was about the creation of the Bush-doctrine)

P.S. Thanks for the explanation, Ronn and Mark

yes the CIA had a clear shot at knocking off Saddam during the Clinton years, but didn't go through with it.

From what I understand, Clinton pulled the plug on the operation and it unraveled so badly that a few CIA agents got the blame for the messup/coverup etc.

A couple of things here TL 1. You are absolutley right about the shot coming down somewhere. A good portion of the Civilian casualties in the Gulf War were from the AA fire that didn't hit anything coming back down in populated parts of town.

2. Start taking out his doubles and sooner or later there won't be anyone who looks like him who will volunteer to be his double....I would bet that shaving your face clean would be a sudden fad in SH lookalikes....
