Yep, the UK is the last one left.

Kakero: Are you implying that what Johnny says is not the case and Chinese history lessons are not as distorted as we are lead to believe?

This whole hug-a-ba-lew is over getting a permenent seat on the security council of the UN? Well spank my rear-end and paint it purple that's really something to aspire too, being a head fool of an orginization of fools.

I've been reliably informed that the Chinese do not wish to use their veto to keep Japan out. So by changing world opinion with the mass show of public opposition to Japan they hope to do it the diplomatic way.

To put it in context the textbook is only being used in 18 schools...

Nope, Chinese writing makes my head hurt - I like a maximum of two separate lines in a letter!

But if you have a past textbook then I would love to hear from a definitive source - are Chinese history textbooks revisionist?

Long english text makes my head hurts as well.

If I got the meaning of revisionist correct. Let's see, when I was Junior two ( 13 years ago ). The chinese history textbook that we got was a new edition one. There's lot of new stuff on it that you won't find in previous edition ( ancient muslim empires and the coming of islam those sort of stuff plus some more things) . But still you gotto love the chapters about Japanese Occupation.

Yeah, i'm sure they are very open on that topic, they probably cried a whole new Yangthze river when they printed that. I'm just curious...are they as open on their own occupation of Tibet as well ?

Question Mark

It is always fun to play with history. "No, America has never, ever forcibly invaded anyone or treated any one ethnic/national group as second-class citizens."

Usually, the worse the action in the past was leads to a greater desire to whitewash what happened.

Ok I'm stirring the pot a little but in a throwdown between China and Japan I'll put my money on the Japanese any day of the week...

But more on-topic I agree that this is all about China not wanting Japan on the security council. These two countries have been at each other's throats for centuries and I doubt that they'll kiss and make up now. IMO Japan should have a seat. As mentioned earlier they have a large modern military and are one of the economic powerhouses of the world. If China deserves a seat on the council then Japan certainly does.
