If I were an Iranian I will feel ashame of this news. Which mean the country don't have any good SAM defense or any good air force. Which mean the country isn't capable of defending itself from foreign forces.

Isn't this a good enough hint for a successful co-op strikes to take out those facility? Delta Force anyone?

They USED to have a decent airforce, back in the days of the Shah. As far as i can remember, they were the only airforce, besides the USAF of course, who could deploy the F-14 Tomcat.

Indeed, the US asked Iran to buy lots of their military equipment to fill the power vacuum in that area upon departure to ensure the Russian's didn't get a foothold. At the time I believe it was quaintly known as America's 'gendarme of the persian gulf'.
