Whatever you chose, before going to get Imoen, I would drop Valygar, or Minsc, in favour of Yoshimo.

HOLD ON, two questions:

1. Do you want to adventure with Imoen? If so, then who are you going to drop once you find her?

2. If you are going to take someone and then drop them for Imoen, then you REALLY want that "extra" person to be Yoshimo. If for any mission, then this is the one for him. Trust me.

You could, of course, rescue her, and then send her packing home and keep your 6. In this case, I suppose that I wouldn't be in a big hurry. But, if I wanted Imoen as a permanent member, then I would want her to share in the experience point making.
