Another person misrepresents the issue of "seperation of Church and Sate".....jeez, For the umpteenth time. The clause about seperating the church from the state is a limitation on the governemnt from imposing a religion on the people, not the converse. The people and the legislators who "REPRESENT" the people have a right to elect and vote for measures that they believe is correct. The Supreme Courts job is to decide if it's legal or not...but having a senator vote the way his constituents want is in no way infringing on the Seperation of church and state.

Ammendment #1:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press, or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for redress of grievances.

Congress can't establish a religion, the people can tell congress what religious matter need to be addressed....get it right folks.

Is that better?

Anyway, on to more interesting stuff. Do you think he's a heretic? I think I remember you saying you were Catholic.

Any Catholic who has ever used a rubber should be excommunicated. Any Catholic who has gotten a divorce should be excommunicated.

Djinn, you mix sins and mortal sins. While I have waffled from side to side on this debate -- precisely because it's hard to sort out -- I will say that in the Catholic Church theat there are different levels of sins.

Well surely whether you wear a rubber or not is equivalent to your stance on abortion no? Just a little further down the line.
