Don't know what's allowed and what's not.

To me its not about freedom its about respect. Though being a working class Australian swearing is second nature to me, this forum has 'talk to your parent rules' IMO. Don’t say thing here that you would not say to parents. Defining such rules and words is silly and fraught with danger and open to ridicule. As mainly adults I think we are above needing more specific guidelines. Though allowance should be made for the vast cultural makeup of this forum.

Just recently I was made aware that Go*dam* was a strong cuss word in the USA culture much to my embarrassment.

Let commonsense rule ok!

Which pretty much leaves every 'cuss' word available to me. Cheers!

Oh, and that should have read "flamebaiting" which is nothing at all like baiting a hook - my most earnest and gosh darned apologies neighbour.

This was a rule that was posted publically in GenCon about two years ago entitled use of the "f" word, and it was created by Ziroc. It stayed on as a hot topic for at least a week before it fell to page two. Then, in 2003, I posted a link to that thread to show a particular member what the rule was.

Sadly, the thread has been moved or archived and I cannot find it now.

Some of you have failed to even read Ziroc's post without questioning the rule. This is what he said: Please PM me with any further posts that have any curse words. (the bad ones).

Please do not say that you do not know the difference in weight between the "F" word and something like "hell", because none of us are going to believe you. He said "The Bad Ones".

The "Bad Ones" are known to be this:

1. The "F" word. We have also said that putting a " * " in place of the vowel will not be permitted.

2. The word G.D., spelled out in either of it's forms, one word or two,
....even if it is misspelled the way many people do, forgetting the "n" at the end.

3. Any slang word that references the genitalia of a male or female.

At this time, those three rules are the only ones that I am aware of, unless Ziroc wants to adjust the rule at this time.

The GD one is interesting. it isn't widely used in the UK but it certainly wouldn't raise eyebrows.
