In it's current form the U.S. Constitution forbids Forgein borns, from being the President. Unless there is a legal change to the U.S.Constitution It wouldn't bother me at all if a forgein born was President, because I'd be dead, my side having lost the war.

I'd have no problem with that as long as he/she is right for the job and has lived in the country long enough to understand the people (and I'm not talking about language only

more seriously, i dont care who becomes PM over here, so long as he does a better job than blair. not really stringent qulifications though, as there are a whole lot of people better than blair.

There are rules when you can run for parliament or president... so if they're obeyed and the person was elected, why not.

Either you're a citizen of a country or not.
Frankly, I have no problem with it. Afterall, under the current system (in most countries), there is nothing to stop someone who was born in the country but left as baby (spending most of their adult life abroad) from returning to stand for election as leader of their country. So why not a foreign born individual who has spent most of their adult life in their adopted country? To allow them citizenship but deny them the same rights as other citizens seems rather unfair to me. |

I would have no problems with it. If he/she chose to become a citizen of the country and went through the whole legal process and became a citizen then he/she should get the same rights as "normal" citizens.

Because no one shares my consciousness, everyone is a foreigner. Likewise, because we use the same organic compounds to build our bodies, everyone is family... so, it makes no difference to how I feel. If I like and trust the person, they can lead me. If not, I'll lead myself.

She's a Gandhi/Nassar (sp?)... it was ordained, now India just needs to get used to the idea. Of course that wouldn't fly in the US because she only married into the family, but apparently over there the folks a bit more flexible on such matters.
