Because emotional vengeance is exactly what the logical and fair law would not counsel, the parents of the victims are exactly the wrong people whose opinions matter.

The person who killed him will go to trial for murder. Without the interceding crime, he would not have died, except of old age. It is not the result dictated by law. While you may like the result, don't go confusing his ill fortune in being the victim of a crime with justice. They are not the same.

Anyone ever see the movie Sleepers, btw??

The ones interviewed on the radio were pissed off that he had been murdered. As they wanted him to rot in jail for the next 20-30 years till he died bitter and broken in jail. They felt that he got off easy by being killed in jail.

Im not confusing anything TL. Like I said, he was caught, tried, convicted and sentenced. Justice was served. The government, the judge and the people did their duty. He made his own decisions in life that put him in a high risk place to spend the rest o his life. Im sure he was probably in protective custody. What else should have been done to protect him? People are killed in prison all the time. The only reason we heard about him is because of the high profile of his case. Would this thread be here if it was a car thief that was shanked? (strangled, whatever) Again...he made his bed, and now he's lying in it.
