I like the Roman empire too. I also like the Byzantine, and some of the Chinese empires are interesting to read about.

The Romans Empire is pretty cool to read about. The USSR has a pretty cool history too, if you want to call it an empire.

Oh, the British Empire, definitely. Rome a far second, as there were many timesI wouldn't have wanted to live in Rome. (I.e., Nero and Caligula's heyday.

Well, the Moguls were an interesting people, I remember having to do a report in history... and, ummm.... the Byzantine, and the British (What else??)
Not the Romans for me.. too many mad or just depraved rulers.

Rome for the personalities, especially late republic. So many great men. Greece for the science, the philosophy, the idea of thinking and discovering for the sake of it, not for technology or advancement. And Macedonia, because Philip and Alexander were such amazing men, and achieved so much. I always wonder if Philip hadn't been assassinated, what he could have done in Asia.

![]() Sorry, I just don't believe Alexander the destroyer should be called "The Great". He destroyed a nation that took generations to build, and his own replacement 'Empire' did not last after his short life. Homer, Plato, Pericles, and even Philip, all contributed to human culture. Alexander was a destroyer of culture. ![]() |
