As Glorfindel said, Fiends and Pitfiends are very good until you can acctually summon them, while you are so powerfull at that level, that you can tak them out with a fart

Fiends are so good. All demons, all odd beasts kick butt. And killing hte pit fiend for XP is a fun thing to do.

if you have ToB you can do the same with the golem books (learned from a habit I have of wiping out my summoned creatures before leaving a map so they don't continue to count against my maximum).

I quite agree, Morgeruat. I always demolish my Skeleton Warriors, even though I'm not sure whether they'd count against my summon limit or not--better safe than sorry. My typical summons are Skeletons, Wyverns, Mountain Bears, and Wands, although I do like to have fun with some of the others. (Jon Irenicus at the Tree of Life vs. Hakeashar, anyone?)

Even playing Good, I wouldn't mind Gating in something Evil. As long as it dies, it's just another dead demon, right? More fertilizer for the crops of the Prime Material.
